Your chateau towers into the violet sky like some villainous lair

I hear the whispers of a fight that left your golden gates bare

My infamy is a daring dance that leads me away from home

Your skies turn you to moonstone


I have the same nightmare every day of the week

They throw me over the cliff and say my madness pushed me

I hunt these fortunes down like some cold blooded fantasy

He says the beast inside you has devoured me


I had a feeling you'd never leave me but why couldn't you let go

The wolves at my heels made sure you'd find me buried deep in the snow

You take it upon you to justify why the dust settles around you slow

I can't explain how these longings are thorns in your rose


My misgivings said you had warmed up to the cold

Broke through the ice and chased after the melancholia storm

You followed through on everybody's tossed pennies and gold

You say these affirmations are the wayward keys to the door


They say I'm lost to the curse that took control of my soul

You're run down in my name as they polish their pitchforks

I wear it like the diadem donned in onyx and gold

I throw all this life away for a chance to go home


He pulled the wrong trigger, he'll never see midheaven 

He understands why all his vanity was contested
