Ford Fiesta - ALCHEMICAL
I'm so scared of writing bad poetry
I've forgotten how it was all for me
I still recall how the summer gravel gave
Me the taste of escape you only see in dreams and prayers
All my grey skies turned porcelain
It took one crack of sunlight
Through the storm I was dancing in
It comes back to me like compulsive sin
I'm sat motionless
As my reality grows dim
It's just you and me in your Ford Fiesta
'03, Pacific coastline rollercoaster
Cured achromaticity, I'm now one step closer
I purged my memory, now I've lost you forever
I'm scared of falling too fast asleep
Awake in the dark, forget that you found me
My pride so fragile, it shattered under my skin
Now I only live through your perceptions of me
All my grey skies turned porcelain
It took one taste of life
For you to untie my injured wings
At half-past the onset of dusk
I'm rewriting these old stories
Of unrequited love
It's just you and me in your Ford Fiesta
'03, wind in my hair kind of summer
You set me free, I took a sword to the altar
I purged my memory, now I've lost you forever
With every crack of thunder
I'm taken back to that tavern
With rotting wood tables
And loud singing to mourn us
My chest is hollow
With unexplained pounding in my ears
It took all my composure
To treat you like a perfect stranger
I paint these longings
In the brightest shades of you
Watch the sunset wash them out
Onto the gold coast shores of all I knew
It was just you and me in your Ford Fiesta
'03, Kodachrome kind of heartbreak cinema
You ran back to me, Girl, you should've known better
I purged my memory, now you're lost forever
It's just you and me in your Ford Fiesta
'03, Pacific coastline rollercoaster
It took a chance on feeling like an imposter
Made your mark on me, now you're lost forever.
