Smoke and Mirrors - The Fall of the Blackbird

Based On: Star Wars - Revenge of the Sith

I was catapulted into a plummet to the abyss
The fall broke both my bones and my spirit
The ground shook like it couldn't tolerate my weight
The heat pressed against my skin and singed my fate

The wind swept me up into a tornado of chaos
I spun out of control and my senses numbed out
My fractured flailing arms as light as the sunshine
My indispensable fright threatening to flat line

My breathing was hoarse and mechanical
Like a sports car running on an empty tank
At the back of my mind was an eerie whisper
Saying" I give you permission to be tired"

My oiled hinges lost control of my limbs
I was consumed with resentment and sin
Her voice attempting to pull me back in
Choked out of her because she wouldn't understand it

When the moment came I surrendered all feeling
Locked all my memories in a box and swallowed the key
Consistent defeat was as tiresome and humiliating
As running a race alone in an arena and losing
I succumbed to the embarrassment and donned a new ego
"come back!", in desperation she called
Old rivalries and affections began starving for a new goal
And transcended into raging peace reaching saturation

I fight new versions of myself and lose a part of me every time
He says he's trying to save my life but I know he's trying to steal mine
I see it clearly in my abode of smoke and mirrors
And drown away any form of regret for I have a different purpose.
