sapphire sun - the pandemonium

My sapphire sun
Crushed under my thumb
Once set fire to my bones
Found the edge in my dome

My only one
Person is gone
Like the ruins they fade
But like whispers they stay

Watched your train leave forever from my station
Afraid to leave I stood in the pouring rain and frozen
I dream up versions of you I wouldn't be sad to lose
And I understand why you'd run from me, there's nothing I'd give you for free

We were building forts
Out of afterthoughts
Blankets, torn
And eventually worn out

These walls soon cruel
Reminders of you
Casket-less yet
Hollow, broken and bruised

I survived the poison poured into my innocence
Remained fragile and broken under healed skin
I dream up versions of you I wouldn't be sad to lose
And I understand why you'd run from me, there's nothing I'd give you for free

Perplexed fun
Stranger to love
Indigo rust
Lost control at the helm

My kingdom gone
All wallflower plots
Silence and purpose
Suffocate me long

I'm buried face down, eulogized by a rival
Guilty as sin and as bitter as freedom
Would've traded everything just to be
And I understand why you'd run from me, there's nothing I'd give you for free
