Waterfall - STARDUST
Eye piercingly bright and red, it's not easy to fall
It was clandestine, all the times you gave me a piece of your mind
Under an invisible cloak, far away from the world you were all mine
In all our conversations even when we put fires to shame
I felt like a ghost, floating over us cursing you in despair
It's the butterflies that still adore you and make me want to look past it all
But their wings as brittle as icicles don't know they've flown into a waterfall
At the waterfront I cursed your pensiveness
It made every room feel empty even with a 100 people there
You're an enigma of emotion drowning in an ocean of feeling
I don't mean to be malevolent but I'm getting a little to tired of swimming
In all our conversations even when we put fires to shame
I felt like a ghost, floating over us cursing you in despair
It's the butterflies that still adore you and make me want to look past it all
But their wings as brittle as icicles don't know they've flown into a waterfall
I envy the momentum that has carried me this far
It doesn't know and doesn't ever want to stop
You're every rock that has obstructed my steady stream
But it always leads me back to you, and I want to get clean
You became one with the earth but you used to be mine
Your absent minded composure and your half hearted disclosure left you resigned
I'm sober enough now to ignore the faint scent of temptation
I'm broken enough now to understand your indiscretion
In all our conversations even when we put fires to shame
I felt like a ghost, floating over us cursing you in despair
It's the butterflies that still adore you and make me want to look past it all
But their wings as brittle as icicles don't know they've flown into a waterfall
