Kaleidoscope - Kaleidoscope
Why is it that everything you sing sounds like a melancholy?
Why is it that you always look like a mosaic of broken dreams?
You say you've repurposed a lifetime of grief
Painted over every sadness till it becomes incomplete
Why shouldn't something terrible be metamorphosized into something beautiful?
And if you take a closer look, you'll see me, an emotional kaleidoscope
Now you're begging for something to hold on to
After you've driven every morsel of kindness that could've been show unto you
You scale the walls of elevated moods and bring them crashing down
You swing over the rubbled hope and land face first into the ground
Do you lay there wondering why God made you this way?
So eager to jump to pretentious conclusions, only to be disappointed
But it's better than feeling nothing at all and diving into an endless waterfall
You say you've repurposed a lifetime of disappointment
All into a single poem
Why must everything terrible remain as it is?
When it can be metamorphosized into something beautiful?
And if you take a closer look you'll see me, an emotional kaleidoscope
The world to you is a dark toned rainbow
Tinted reveries and palatial sorrows
How do you sleep knowing your mind will never be at peace?
There is always some vacancy out there waiting to bleed
The world to you is a sun dyed lilac expanse of sea
Waiting to stain every barren beach
You say why should something unadorned be left as it is?
When it can be metamorphosized into something beautiful?
And if you take a closer look, you'll see me, an emotional kaleidoscope.
