Violent Delights - CANDOUR

They say choose your battles wisely
But I've been busy counting the wars I've lost
So much time gone up in flames like old money
Delivering heart wrenching apologies at what cost? 

How many times must I dance with the devil
To earn back what I sold? 
My feet are growing tired from spinning in circles
I've worn out all my souls

Saying that I won't fall into it again
Is a promise easier made than kept
Convincing my bones to not falter at break point
Was a self healing task in itself
Even though I'm a bruised soul that's attempting to heal
I swear I never chose violence but I let it choose me

Every fight I fought started out delightful
My adrenaline rush, intoxicated the whole room
I have a knack for stirring the pot until it spills over
But i don't have what it takes to stand up straight
Whenever my body begins to cower
