The Rose Garden- MASTERPIECE CHAPTER 10

We walked our separate ways
We reached the end of days
"Even good things come to an end"
Isn't that what I said

As I turned around first
Things couldn't get any worse
That was the moment I knew
I would never forget you

While I was finding peace
I created a reflection
Of the place I loved the most
The garden in our home

I've spent so many hours
Watching the roses change
I let the thorns prick me
It doesn't hurt as much today
For today I realized
That I burnt you down too
It took you by surprise
The amount of damage I could do

See, I really miss you
I hope you miss me too
I ate my ego up last night
And I'm hoping you just might

Come to see me once again
Out in the borderlands
The white roses are now red
With the olive branch I sent

I need to know you are too
On the same page as me
But let me be the first
To say I'm sorry

I've spent so many days
Watching the roses change
Because they reminded me of when
I was young enough to say
"Our adventure doesn't  end
We needn't have limits
We can be this free forever
And never call it quits"

The journey we chose to take
Of over a 1000 miles
Ended so quickly
We lost track of time

It shocks me still
That we were so blind
We took things too far
From the guiding light

It's hard to let something
Like this so easily go
Even if we do
Our garden won't grow old.
