Treasure Chest - MASTERPIECE CHAPTER 5
Where the grass was always green
And when it turned yellow
The neighbors heard you scream
And everything spilt
Even the iced out secrets
I stared in disbelief
As you began your inquest
How do I tell you not to
Make it a big deal
These are insecurities
And I swallowed the key
Look at me now
And tell me things will be the same
We can still be that house
Just lock out all the shame
I can look past it
But if you can't join me too
At least let me believe you can
Even if it isn't true
Warriors or not
We can't fight this battle
We know too much about us
For us to handle
I can't change the tides
When we're in the middle of the sea
I hope when we reach land
It will give you a chance to see
And know just know
To not make it a big deal
Even you have insecurities
And you swallowed your key
Look at me now
And tell me things will be the same
We can still be that house
Just lock out all the shame
You couldn't look past it
Even I couldn't too
But there's a bounty on our heads
Somehow you know just what to do
This isn't a new beginning
This isn't hope
You stole all the gold
At the end of the rainbow
So now that treasure chest
Is full of your belongings
You chose redemption
And now,
I'm leaving
I can look at you now
And know that things won't be the same
We could have been that house
But now it's all in your name
We've become so repulsive
The whole town is moving out
Now we're all alone
We live in a ghost town
